How Animals reflect our inner Child

Have you ever noticed some big burly guy on the street walking a tiny feminine dog ?

Do you coo and warble at your cat ?

Do you baby talk to your 120 lb. Rottweiler ?

Did you know that the pet industry in America generates 44 Billion dollars ?  That's more than what is spent on books and toys for children.

What I realized the other day by observing a woman who brings her small dog to work, is that because every person needs to feel connected to something organic, the more painful the childhood, the more the need for attachment to something totally forgiving and non-judgmental. She talks to the dog as if he really understood her...she dresses the dog in funny outfits, and takes comfort in feeling that something else in the universe knows she exists. 

And, sometimes, women's desire for attachments get played out by having multiple animals...

I used to have 12 cats and 12 dogs....until I sorted out the source of the need and  what the animals really represented to me.
